Thanks to Nvidia’s Jensen’s Taiwan food map, we, who are usually not picky about food, finally have a new list to follow. Fortunately, a friend who actively promotes trends made a reservation, allowing us to experience a culinary journey recommended by a billionaire.

What are the prices like at Flower Restaurant (Nanjing Branch)?
We were a small group of three with small appetites. We ordered three dishes and a soup, which was more than enough, and we even had leftovers to take home. The average cost per person was about $400~$500.
Our Order at Flower Restaurant (Nanjing Branch)
Since we’re not picky eaters, we directly chose from the popular dishes section and ordered Basil Omelet, Fly Heads, and That Shrimp. We wanted both meat and soup but knew we couldn’t order another dish, so we skipped the Scallion Oil Chicken and went for the Fresh Chicken Pot with Chinese Yam, which had a crown symbol on the menu.

Fly Heads $240
It looked like there were a lot of chilies, so I thought it might be quite spicy, and indeed it was. If my spice tolerance is 10 out of 10, this was about a 7. After one bite, I started eating rice like crazy. However, maybe my tongue got used to it, because after a while, I could continue eating it without needing tea or rice, and I eventually finished it. The next morning, my stomach didn’t react any differently than usual, so maybe this dish helped me level up my spice tolerance.

That Shrimp $380
A sweet and salty taste that stimulates the mouth. I wasn’t sure if the shell was edible, but I ate it. The shell was the type that could be chewed and swallowed, but my companions peeled it off. The shrimp itself was plump and tender, and even eating it with the shell, I could still taste the rich shrimp meat. Next time, I want to try peeling it.

Basil Omelet $240
This piece was a bit large for three people. I think it would be just right for 4~5 people. It tasted like a normal omelet should. What was special was that this omelet was thick, although the diameter looked average, the height was quite substantial, making it feel like cutting a cake.

Old Skin Tender Meat(?) $180?
The question mark is because this dish was complimentary, so I’m not sure if that’s the actual name. The staff mentioned that there were a lot of orders for chicken soup today, causing a delay, and they felt sorry for us, so they offered us their tofu.

Fresh Chicken Pot with Chinese Yam (Small) $580
The menu said “Zhunshan,” but other reviews wrote “Huai Shan,” and the staff pronounced it “Huai,” so it should be Huai Shan. We just wanted to try something fresh, so we ordered a small portion, thinking it would be a small pot for 1~2 people. But it turned out to be a giant pot suitable for 5~6 people. This soup was very light, and besides chicken, it also had yam. Drinking this after the spicy Fly Heads was very refreshing.

Dining Environment
The restaurant was very clean. Since this was near a strange company I used to work for, I had a bit of PTSD before entering. However, upon entering, the place was spotless, and there were some private rooms where people seemed to be having birthday celebrations, creating a joyful atmosphere.
The staff was very polite, and even close to closing time, they didn’t show any signs of rushing us (except for playing Fei Yu-ching’s songs). The overall decor was light wood and light colors, creating a casual dining atmosphere, unlike the commercial pressure of large restaurants. It felt like a good place to have a casual meal and chat with friends on a weekday evening.
